Exterior Design

This year, the exterior of the Santa Fe vehicle sees major changes. Gone are the rounded edges and massive front grille. Instead, you’ll see a more similar design to Land Rovers, with a square shape, bold lines, and a stylish grille.

This new design was developed using Hyundai’s “Open for More” concept to deliver luxury with a spacious interior. As such, it has a liftgate that expands to offer a terrace-like function instead of simply a storage space. There will be seven exterior colours in Canada.

Interior Comfort and Cargo Space

Interior Comfort and Cargo Space

The exterior design is the only part of this vehicle that got a facelift. Vertical and horizontal design elements create a stylish interior, with the headlamps’ H-shape repeated inside as a design motif on the air vents and upper instrument panel.

There’s a UV-C sterilization compartment, a panoramic curved display, and a wireless charging system. The maximum cargo space has also increased to 2,041 litres, with the second-row legroom increased by 20mm to 36mm and even adding third-row seating. The interior boasts three possible colours: Pecan Brown, Obsidian Black, and Forest Green.

Infotainment and Technology Features

The exceptional panoramic curved display uses a 12.3-inch infotainment system and digital gauge cluster display. This luxurious and stylish display is ready to set the ambience while driving with the help of the 12-speaker premium Bose sound system. Drivers will also have access to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Performance Features

There are two powertrain options. The standard boasts a 1.6-litre direct-injected, turbocharged hybrid Gamma III engine with up to 232 horsepower and 271 lb-ft torque. However, you can also upgrade it to the 2.5-litre direct-injected, turbocharged Theta III engine with an impressive torque of 311 lb-ft and 277 horsepower.

While there’s no announcement on the towing capabilities of the standard model, the new generation XRT model can tow up to 4,500 pounds if you add the towing package.

Safety and Driver Assistance Features

Hyundai’s safety precautions include all the regular features, such as active driver assistance and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist. However, it also boasts Navigation-based Adaptive Cruise Control 2, Radar-based rear occupant alert, speed limit assist, and surround view mirror. It even makes remote smart parking assist and safe exit assist available.
