Notable Changes from the Previous Year
The 2024 Elantra brings many upgrades in design and tech features. The shark-nose front design is entirely new and creates a striking first impression. Also, the rear design now has LED tail lights. Hyundai has also improved its tech and safety features to make them more user-friendly and intuitive. Rear-side airbags and seat belt reminders are now standard for all models. The Luxury and N Line trims have leatherette seating available, while the Essential and Preferred trims have a new 4.2-inch digital cluster as standard.
Performance Specs
There are three engines available for this lineup, including a hybrid version. The 2.0-litre MPI Atkinson 4-cylinder is standard for all models except for the flagship. It delivers 132 lb-ft of torque capacity and 147 horsepower. The N Line Ultimate comes with a 1.6-litre Turbo GDI 4-cylinder. It is considerably more powerful, with 195 lb-ft of torque and 201 horsepower. The Luxury trim has an optional 1.6-litre Hybrid GDI engine available, which is capable of 108 lb-ft of torque and 104 horsepower.
Design Elements
The new Elantra has a few comfort features available for the entire lineup, including heated front seats, a manually adjustable front passenger seat, integrated door armrests, and front and rear map pockets equipped with bottle holders. The steering wheel includes cruise control, Bluetooth controls and is heated for the Preferred and above trims. A dual-zone air conditioning system is also available for the Preferred and standard above trims.
The exterior lighting varies little from one trim to another. All models have automatic headlights, LED DRL, projection headlights, and LED headlights. The sunroof is optional for the Preferred trim and is standard for the Luxury and N Line trims. The exterior mirrors are heated and power-adjustable across the lineup.
Technology and Safety Features
There’s an 8-inch touchscreen display as standard for the Essential and Preferred trims, while the higher trims have a 10.25-inch touchscreen, which is optional on the Preferred. Mobile compatibility via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is standard for the whole lineup.
All models can count on a rearview camera with dynamic guidelines. Active safety features are similar across the lineup, with vehicle stability management, electronic stability control, anti-lock brakes, driver attention warning, lane assists, and more.
